Our Process

Engaging a music director is a collaborative process that supports your show from early planning through to opening night. The journey begins with a conversation about your production’s concept, tone and casting needs, followed by a tailored musical plan that outlines vocal coaching, rehearsal schedules and musician requirements.

Once the framework is in place, our music director leads focused music rehearsals, provides individual and ensemble vocal coaching and works closely with your creative team to align musical choices with staging and choreography. They coordinate and rehearse musicians, whether a full pit orchestra, band, repetiteur or accompanist, ensuring that every cue, transition and texture is performance-ready. Our music directors can provide vocal coaching for your ensemble, or work in conjunction with your company’s own vocal coaches.

As the show approaches performance, the music director refines interpretations, supervises technical and sitzprobe rehearsals and conducts or oversees the musical elements during each performance. Throughout the process, you also benefit from access to our trusted network of professional musicians and vocal specialists, giving your production a cohesive, polished sound that supports the drama on stage.
